James Brindle
Cultural Team Leader, East Lindsey District Council
COMMUNITY engagement is at the heart of James' approach to encouraging more East Lindsey residents to take part in health and leisure activities.
Many people in East Lindsey are inactive and unwell.
James has brought much needed funds (£4.6m since 2006), equipment and skills into new programmes to tackle these issues. He set up 7 Sports Forums and is leading a countrywide programme to promote volunteering. James has launched the Food for Life programme showing families how to cook wholesome family meals. He has set up Virtual Gyms in community halls, taking leisure facilities and activities directly to rural and isolated communities.
Through the HEELERS health referral programme James has helped over 1000 people this year to achieve their dream of losing weight and gaining confidence.
We're immensely proud of James' and we hope you are too...
