Andy Hollingshead - WINNER!
Health and Safety Advisor, Adult Social Care - Leicestershire County Council
Andy's has played a key role in transforming health, safety and wellbeing within the Council and across Leicestershire. The risk assessment approach he has introduced to Adult Social Care is ground breaking, balancing sensible risk management with positive risk taking, embedding a culture of 'can do' risk enablement. Constantly seeking to develop improvements and to support managers, he has gained 10 ROSPA Awards for outstanding achievement. Andy has made a huge contribution to the reduction of incidents and assaults - by more than 70% - in the last five years. Protecting lone workers has always been his passion and he has introduced simple procedures and specialist GPS tracking systems supporting higher risk activities.
