Kim Jebson
Manager of Merrimans House Respite Home, London Borough of Hillingdon
Kim Jebson has worked for the LB Hillingdon for 20 years and is the manager of Merrimans House, which provides short-term care for people with learning, physical and sensory disabilities. She has been nominated for the leadership award by one of her staff who described her as 'a breath of fresh air'. Before Kim joined, staff had been without a manager for three months and were desperate for someone to step in and take the reigns. Since Kim started working at Merrimans House, the home's Commission for Social Care Inspection rating has gone from adequate to good which is largely thanks to Kim. She has inspired the team and ensured the home's recent modernisation and refurbishment has been a success. Kim's constant enthusiasm and excellent leadership has had a big impact on the morale of staff and this has improved the service that people receive at Merrimans House.
