Little Teds
Plymouth City Council
Little Ted's - the case of a nursery worker who abused children in her care - shocked Plymouth to its core and made national news, but the crisis served to unite the community.
A huge number of people rallied together to support the families affected by this truly awful case and the five employees nominated were at the very centre of those efforts.
They made up a multi-agency core team from children's social care, health and the police, who together supported the investigation team, co-ordinated special medical assessments and joint visits to 154 families.
They organised evening meetings and drop-in facilities with parents, accompanied them to court hearings, set up a helpline and mass text messaging service, contacted a forensic anthropologist to try to identify the children in pictures and communicated with all those affected throughout the case.
They were the lynch pin holding together the huge support efforts across the city.
