Clive Blackshaw
Assistant Works Manager, Bridgend County Borough Council
Clive has clocked up an impressive 42 years service for Bridgend County Borough Council, but it isn't just the length of service that makes him exceptional.
The warmth and affection of his colleagues, combined with his positive attitude and dedication to duty make him so deserving of recognition.
Clive began his career in local government in 1968 as an electrician, progressing to supervisor and then manager of the electrical unit. During emergencies a local authority is really put to the test and that's why Clive is so important in Bridgend. In the heavy winter of 1982, Clive was called to duty on the Thursday when the snow struck and slept in the depot until the following Tuesday, so that he could support customers through the blizzards.
Clive has given over 40 years loyal service to his community - and he's done all of this without a single day off sick!
